We can not stop your car from being written off or stolen, but we can make sure that if your taxi is written off, you are not left out of pocket or, worse still, paying for a car you can not use.
At present, our Easy Gap Taxi Insurance policy can not cover
What are the benefits of Taxi Combined Return to Invoice Gap Insurance?
From the invoice price, you can clear any finance outstanding if needs be, and whatever is left over after the finance has been settled will be paid out to you.
When the claim is resolved, your Taxi GAP insurance will contribute up to £250 towards your motor insurance excess.
Please remember that when it comes to claiming, our priority is to ensure you are ok.
After that, ensuring your taxi gap insurance claim is processed quickly and efficiently is essential to ensure you are back on the road with minimum effort and delay.
So what is and is not covered on an EasyGap Taxi Insurance Policy?
Every insurance policy will have terms and conditions; ours is no exception. However, we have tried wherever possible to ensure any critical exclusions are listed.
The most important term is how your taxi is written off.
There are one hundred and one ways for your taxi to be declared a total loss. We are often asked if my car is covered if this or that happens.
How your car is written off, how it is stolen or whose fault it is without wishing to sound heartless, it does not matter. The primary term for us is whatever reason your insurance company has to deem it a valid claim.
So, for example, if you are driving down the motorway and skid on black ice and write your car off, that is simply an accident, and your insurance will agree and offer you the market value for your vehicle.
By contrast, if you skid on black ice because you were drunk behind the wheel? Your motor insurance company will not settle as you were doing something illegal.
As you can imagine, we top up your insurance company settlement if, for whatever reason, they decide that the reason that you made a claim is not valid. Within the terms of your motor insurance, there is nothing for your gap insurance to top up, so there would be no gap insurance claim.
What is the maximum amount that a Taxi Gap Insurance Policy will pay?
The maximum amount that your Taxi Gap Insurance will pay is up to £25,000 on top of your insurance company's settlement.
Can you cover public hire and owner drivers?
No, we can only cover private hire drivers, not public hire drivers.
When won't you pay my taxi gap insurance claim?
Your policy will only settle your claim if your insurance company thinks you do not have a valid claim. For example, if you are doing something illegal, negligent or fraudulent.
For example, if you set fire to your car, your insurance company would not settle your claim as you have deliberately set your car on fire.
Do you cover if my car is stolen?
Yes, as long as your own motor insurance company look into the circumstances of you making a claim and agrees that it is a legitimate claim and is happy to settle, we will follow suit.
Do you cover me when I am not using my car as a Taxi?
Yes, we can cover you for social, domestic, and pleasure uses and when you are using your car as a Taxi.
Do I have to pay an excess when I make a claim?
When you make a Taxi Gap Insurance claim, there is no excess to pay.
Do you pay anything towards the cost of my motor insurance company excess?
Your Taxi policy will pay up to £250 towards your motor insurance company's excess.
Will my policy cover all my named drivers?
Your policy will cover all drivers over 18 with a full licence named on your own fully comprehensive insurance.
